Mauve satellite shipped ahead of launch

LONDON, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2025: C3S LLC, the platform provider and spacecraft prime for Mauve, has shipped the satellite to the launch site. Following a successful environmental test campaign in July, Mauve underwent comprehensive functional and software tests, including detailed satellite operation simulations.

After completing these tests, Mauve was shipped to the launch site to prepare for launcher integration, ahead of its launch on SpaceX’s Transporter-15, scheduled for no earlier than October 2025.

“We are proud that within the relatively small community of 16-unit satellites, we have developed a reliable spacecraft that is capable of performing complex scientific operations, including stellar observation. This achievement is particularly significant because the project aligns a strong scientific mission with a sustainable business model, demonstrating how innovation can simultaneously advance research and create lasting commercial value,” said Gyula Horváth, CEO of C3S LLC.

Dr Marcell Tessenyi, CEO of Blue Skies Space, said: “The readiness of Mauve for launch marks a key achievement for the project. In under three years since its inception, and with the collaboration of C3S and our partners, Mauve has been successfully delivered on schedule. We look forward with anticipation to its upcoming launch.”

Equipped with a 13 cm telescope and an ultraviolet-visible spectrometer, Mauve will observe hundreds of stars, collecting valuable data to support a variety of scientific objectives. These include studying stellar flares, their effects on the habitability of nearby exoplanets, and insights into the long-term stability of different stellar types.
